Area  of Circle =  πd^2 / 4  =  π*12*12 / 4 = 36π, Where d = diameter of the circle

Area of the circle = 36π  square inches

Substituting the value of π ≈ 3.14

A  ≈  36 * 3.14 ≈ 113.04

A = 36π  ≈ 113.04 square inches

I hope this helps.
