Once again, we are trying to isolate x. To do this, we must add 17 to both sides of the equation.

x/5 = 7 + 17

Simplify.

x/5 = 24

Now, since we need to fully isolate x, we have to get rid of the denominator. An easy way to do that is to multiply both sides by 5.

x/5 · 5 = 24 · 5

Simplify.

x = 120

So, 120 is our answer!
