-3/5(3a+4)=7

multiply each side by -5/3 to  get rid of the fraction

-5/3 * -3/5 (3a+4) =7 *-5/3

(3a+4) = -35/3

subtract 4 from each side

3a +4-4 = -35/3 -4

3a = -35/3 -12/3

3a = -47/3

divide each side by 3

a = -47/3 /3

a = -47/9
