Write the difference between a “subject/topic" and a theme.

The theme is a more specific topic....theme is the main messaged passed on through writing while a topic is the major subject explained in writing.

The difference between a subject and a theme is that a theme carries on through the story/ text the subject is only shown through certain parts of the story/text
