From equation 2

2y= 3x -5

y= 3x-5/2

Substitute 3x-5/2 for y in equation 1

9x -2(3x-5/2)= -1

9x -(3x-5)= -1

9x -3x+5= -1

6x= -1-5

6x= -6

x= -6/6

x= -1

Substitite -1 for x in equation 2

2y= 3(-1)-5

2y = -3-5

2y = -8

y = -8/2

y= -4

Hence x = -1 and y= -4
