Given :-

  • A Equation , [tex]\sf y = 3(1/2)^x [/tex]

To find :-

  • The value of y at x = -2.

Solution :-

The given equation is ,

[tex]\red{\longrightarrow}\sf y = 3(1/2)^x [/tex]

Now on substituting x = -2 , we have,

[tex]\red{\longrightarrow} y = 3(1/2)^{-2}[/tex]

Using the property of exponents as ,

[tex]\red{\longrightarrow} \sf a^{-m}= 1/a^m[/tex]

We have ,

[tex]\red{\longrightarrow}\sf y = 3(2)^2 [/tex]

[tex]\red{\longrightarrow}\sf y = 3(4)[/tex]

[tex]\red{\longrightarrow}\bf y = 12 [/tex]

Hence the required answer is 12.
