From Trigonometric identities of right Triangles;

It follows that;

  • cos x = adj/hyp

Hence, the opposite of angle X is;

  • Opp = √(2²-1²)

  • Opp = √3.

Hence, it follows that tan x;

  • tan x = opp/adj = √3/1

Hence, the value of tan x = √3.
