The law that regulates the amount of certain pollutants that can be released into the air in the United States is the Clean Air Act.

This is one of the most influential environmental laws and has been developed since 1955, when it was called Air Pollution Control Act. In 1963 it received the name as we know now, and since then many millestones have been accomplished.
