Water is a limiting factor. Without it the population will quit developing and would have to move to find new sources.

Water is a limiting factor. Without it the population will quit developing and would have to move to find new sources. If they can't then their population will become stressed, reducing activity, growth in individuals, and reproduction. The population will die off until a new carrying capacity is reached.
