A demanding or threatening event is often called a stressor

In the early age, stressors that human experience tend to be something that directly threatens our life, such as wild animals or poisonous plants.
In today's society, since we do not encounter any of those things on daily basis, the stressors tend to take form in workplace problems or relationship problems.
