Internal bleeding into a fractured extremity is MOST often controlled by:  splinting the extremity.

When there is an occurence of fractured extremity, there is a high chance that the fractures will pierced an organ within the body if the patient make a wrong movement, which will cause an internal bleeding.

In order to prevent this, medical professional tend to immobilize the patient so they're unable to move, and this technique is called splinting the extremity.
