The term that retribution advocates use to describe the concept of blameworthiness is just deserts.
This term is only used in its plural form, and refers to something that somebody deserves to have or experience. So if a person is deserving of blame, it means that these advocates can use the term just deserts to refer to just that. The word deserts is archaic and rarely used outside of this term.
