The Cherokee Indians. If you go back to the time of the revolutionary period, the French and Americans were allies. So Americans had to convince the French to help them win against the British. So therefore, the Cherokee was a friend of the French and then America became allied with France, and France was an enemy of Britain and the New England colonies.
