How did northerners views on abolition differ from those of southerners?

The difference of Northerners and Southerners’ views in terms of abolition is that the northerners prefer of abolition to be supported as this is having slavery and they want it to be abolished. While the southerners, does not agree to their idea as they need slaves because of the plantations that they are building and facilitating.
