9h= 315

H= 315/9

H= 35

H = # of hours of work
315=9H   or $315 = $9*(hours)
Then divide both sides by 9 to isolate the variable.
315/9=35
9h/9=h (9's cancel out)
h = 35
Oliver will have to work 35 hours to earn $315 at $9 per hour.
