Why does paine think its america's best interest to be free from britain?

Thomas Paine's main arguments that he put forward in Common Sense had to do with the absurdity of such a vast and potentially-great land being ruled by such a distant, small island--and the fact that the idea of hereditary succession in a monarchy is logically flawed.
