To make your equation easier to graph, you can try simplifying it. Add 6 to both sides.

y-6 = (x+2)
  + 6     + 6
y = x + 8

Then, try plugging in values for x and using that output as your y value. Some coordinates on your graph would be (0, 8), (1, 9), (2, 10), (3, 11), etc.
