Simplify the equation to -2y-15.5=16.25y+52
subtract 16.25y from both sides
-2y-15.5-+16.25y=16.25y+52-16.25y
-18.25y-15.5=52
add 15.5 to both sides.
-18.25y-15.5+15.5=52+15.5
-18.25y=67.5
divide both sides by -18.25
-18.25y/-18.25=67/-18.25
y=-3.69863
hope this helps!
