The book written by Herodotus provided valuable insight into ancient Egypt prior to the 19th. He was a Greek historian who was born in the year 484 BC and died in the year 425 BC. Very little fact is known about his personal life, but his work is one of the oldest to have survived in intact form. He is widely considered as "The Father of History" till today.
