Why deos it take 3 copies of 1/6 to show the same amount as 1 copy of 1/2 amount

It is because [tex]3 * (1/6) = 3/6[/tex] which can also be [tex]1/2[/tex]. That is the same as [tex]1 * (1/2)[/tex] which is [tex]1/2[/tex]
